For example, Mohamed is not allowed to travel with me (just realized this).
So, for example, I have been a friend, a tourist, a wife, or the lady he looks after depending on which police re asking.
I remember when Ahmed, Mohammed, and I were travelling to Aswan and the entry checkpoint police said tourists weren't allowed on the desert road. He said we were not tourists, but friends....got us through.
However things were different coming back from the sea. I guess he said or they determined I was a tourist and we had to turn back and take a different road. It was a very scenic drive and I loved it. We even passed by a community where oneofhis sisters live and stopped to visit, but no one there
It is not easy to travel with an Egyptian. Security is tight. I remember at one check point he tried the wife thing, but they asked for papers (marriage)
At others they did not ask for papers.
Anyway, finally got home. Today I have spent being very busy,...breakfast delivered to me, sent my laundry to be done, lunch delivered . Room service is grand.
Now I am about to get showered and dressed to cross the Nile to go to a wedding party.
Life is tough. It really is. It is about 8:30 pm here and still much too early to go. At this time I am ready for bed......not here.
Apparently tonight is the grooms party, No bride present. It is henna night for them.
Tomorrow the groom will take his bride, I hope I am invited.
Gotta go now, need to get showered, shaved, and dressed.
